Colorado fly fishing

Post by RB » October 12th, 2010, 11:07 am

Last week and the prior weekend got some fly fishing time on the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan rivers near Aspen Colorado. All 5 of us caught fish but it was not as good as the last time I fished it. It is amazing how much wild trout fight compared to our put and take fish in Missouri. All catch and release in the areas we were fishing but it was still a lot of fun.

What were you catching them on? Any hatch in particular or were you just wingin' it?

Dave, mostly using blue wing olives which was the hatch and midges. We had a guide for one of the days. The other days we just fished ourselves. I have been there several time so kind of knew the local bugs. One thing for sure is trout don't live in ugly places. I am sending you a pm with some additional info.
