COLD FRONT!!!

Heading out this evening and tomorrow before I have to head to South Carolina for a business trip on Sunday. High hopes that this weather will have them up and about. Solo hunt this evening and taking my daughter tomorrow if she is feeling better.

Well it didn't work out. I could have skewered either one of two fawns pretty easily (8 yards) Friday evening. I sat Saturday morning but didn't see a single deer. Daughter and I sat together the evening and had turkeys all around us. I hit one low and unfortunately lost it. WE sat from 2:15 to dark in the cold and some rain and she sat there the entire time and did not see a freaking deer. Starting to get pretty frustrated with it. Not for me, I don't mind not seeing anything, but she is so patient and has practiced so much, I just want her to have a chance. I would have let her have a chance at the turkeys, but they never got close enough for her.

That's a shame but there will be better days. Our young bow hunter finally got a chance on a spike but decided to pass and let him grow up. Kudos to him for that level of discipline and to your daughter for toughing out another rough day. I'm now in week three with my new knee. Doing pretty good so I will be able to at least go camp and hang out. Nice cabin so easy to do.
