Last Rabbit Hunt of 2018-2019

Post by Tigerhaze » February 13th, 2019, 2:50 pm

Went on a rabbit hunt north of Columbia with a buddy and his son last Sunday, after the morning ice/snow showers. He took three of his beagles and we hunted a property he owns and then public ground. We ended up getting 15 rabbits between the three of us in about 4 hours of hunting so not too bad. The thin skiff of snow really helped with visibility, but the ice was a pain to walk around on.

TH sounds like a great day and fun hunt. I used to do a lot of rabbit hunting. The guy we got our beagle from hunted Saturday and Sunday with six guys each day and bagged limits both days. They ran about 8 dogs. Congrats on a great day.

Today may have been a good day to hunt (last day of season) given the new powder snow we got here in western MO. Unfortunately I had to work so maybe next year,

Yeah, rabbit hunting in the snow is a lot of fun especially in heavy cover. You can see those little buggers a mile away.
