Upland Classic Nationals start tomorrow

Post by SF-Labs » March 10th, 2004, 10:54 am

The Upland Classic National hunt test start tommorrow at Robert E. Talbot CA. Talbot is on HWY96 between HWY39 and HWY97 near Miller MO.

There will be some super dogs in both the pointing and flushing division. Check out www.uplandclassic.com for rules and running order. Image

There are about 40 dogs qualified in each division. I am lucky enough to have 3 flushers which will cause me to run my rolly polly body considerably the next 3 days Image

Wish Springerdude and I luck as he is my doubles partner.

This would be a great opportunity to see some great upland dogs in action.

If you look at the running order, you will notice that Ron is running 5 runs on Thurs. 4 are 20 min each and 1 is 30 min doubles. He then has 4 runs on Friday, 2 @ 20 min and 2 @ 30 min.

It is going to be interesting and fun to compete in the event. We will see what happens.

Just some general comments....

Babe and Kasey are still showing well and have a shot at being in the finals run on Sat.

One doubles run today which happen to be with Belle. Got a clean 6 bird, 6 shot run. After the doubles run today, she is so far the top dog. However, there are over 10 doubles runs set for tomorrow.

Hey, Springerdude and Santa Fe are holding their own against the big guys!

In the Upland Classic Nationals, with top 10 run offs pending for tomorrow,Springerdude (with Casey) is 2nd and Santa Fe's Babe is 4th.

With Springerdudes help, All 3 of Santa Fe's entries in doubles are in the top 10, Belle,Babe and Bleu.

After 2 days of intense competition, the local dogs are still in postition for a win!!!!

Wish us luck!!

Hey! We did well! Close ,but no cigar Image

As the weather deteriorated so did our shooting. Kind of hard to shoot with tears in our eyes and rain on our glasses. Image

End result: Springerdude finished 2nd in singles flushing beating Santa Fe's Babe by ONE point. Imagebut Imageto Springerdude and Casey.

Santa Fe's Babe finished 4th in the doubles competion. Image

We are especially proud of Babe as she is one of our pups from our first litter.

Belle and Bleu should have urinated on our legs because of our Pee Poor shooting, but they behaved like the ladies they are. Image Hunted their hearts out until we were out of shells.

Congratulations to Hal Brown and the Upland Classic crew for a truley well organized event!!!! Image

It was a great weekend!

John: I told several local people about our training day and Preliminary HRC HT.

Most of these guys are from wayout of the area. I think, other than Devin Inglove who now resides in SD,there was 1 other entry from MO.
