anyone fish around alton area. started using the boat up there instead of hauling all the way to lake ozark. Looking for a good spot for flatheads. Gonna try my hand at walleye

I used to live in Florissant and we would fish below the old dam (near the current Hwy 67 bridge)that was upstream of the current Melvin Price Lock and Dam 26.
That may be a good place to try. Even though they blew the dam, remnants of it and the old bridge footings probably still exist along with a scour hole.

i use to fish down by the arch there is a slue arround there that a plant uses the water to cool their machines and the big flat head are in there feeding on the shad but becarful there is alot of 50 and 60 lbers that like to take poles in the water
