Just get a Lightning Rod or Ugly Stick. Put the money you save in a better reel.

Ambassadeur C3. Size depends on what you are fishing for. Excellent reel. Great casters and very reliable. Hell, I've got two hand me down Ambassdeurs, that I still use, that are damn near as old as I am. Now that's durability. Can't go wrong for $59.99-$79.99 a reel!
