Snow

Does anyone make special plans to hunt small game, just because of the snow?

Only if you consider deer to be "small game". I'd be in my stand right now if it weren't for work. But I'll be out there before sunup saturday...

I'll be bowhuning Sunday. I've got to move two stands also, there will be no doubt about fresh trails and where the deer have been moving/feeding. Image

Generally I like to have fresh snow for rabbit hunting so I can see which brush piles and cover they are using. Fresh snow is also extremely useful when I am hunting pheasants for obvious reasons.

If it wasn't firearms deer season this weekend, I would probably do those things.

I scouted Sun mid-day, and moved a stand. After the tromping and stomping, I didn't think it would be a productive hunt, so I just watched the Chiefs.

I should have hunted anyway though.
