Why don't you give the readers here a report on your fishing trip to Taneycomo last week? Inquiring minds want to know.

We fished up at the dam on Friday afternoon (2/10), no water generation, and nobody else was there. I was fishing with a #18 zebra midge under an indicator. I caught two really nice rainbows (relesased). Then we headed back to Lilley's and fished off the dock, everyone caught a couple of fish.

On Saturday we headed up to Fall Creek and anchored just past Fall Creek Marina. We were fishing chartreuse and white power bait/eggs. We boated over 100 fish between 5 of us. It was a great day, it was cold and windy with a little snow thrown in.

If you were anchored above the marina you were fishing in the trophy area with bait. Image

Rainbow - We were not above fall creek. We were between the fall creek dock and fall creek.

Snowy, I talked to a buddy yesterday and he asked me about Taney. I told him about your report. We have fished that exact hole and killed them too. You can also hit it from the upstream end of FC dock.

That's the spot for sure. I was actually fishing the hole between FC dock and that brush pile just above the dock. I watched some folks tied up to the brush pile throwing out trout food. They didn't catch squat, but I sure did. It was hilarious.

Next time you are in that spot put a micro jig under a float and fish the brush pile like you do for crappie. you will do better than you did on bait. I did that one time and had probably ten people ask what I was using for bait.
