You ain't skeerin' me none....for one you're too early and for another, you can't see a damnn 'shroom unless it's under a sycamore tree! But still...you're gettin' too damnn close to my spot for comfort...I'll tell the dude to be on the look out for a Ford broke down along the road.

I'll betcha a case of beer that I pick more morels this weekend than you do the next.

Nah, I ain't takin' that bet. I ain't got lease rights and I know of 3 other people that 'shroom hunt that area. Lemme know how you do though, so I know whether or not to bother with the drive.

Went down to hunt my places in Texas County and it was dry as a bone. Zilch. Didn't do much hunting this year due to knee problem.

Lag time is anybodies guess. Morels don't really pop-up that much, usually they are already there in smaller form under the leaves and they get a growth spurt. I hunt'em as soon as the rain quits cause lot of times the rain will have dislocated the leaves and there they are.

Thanks- unfortunately in my area it appears the good soaking rains came about two weeks too late. I rechecked my spots this weekend during turkey hunting, and didn't see any. I did find a lot of other types of shrooms though, just not morels.

Two of us picked about 6lbs. this weekend in Grundy co. Some were getting pretty old, but we found a nice patch of really fresh ones yesterday.
