He's gotten a little old, but then so have I.

He is probably the reason I kept fishing. Didn't really have anyone to show me the ropes but I was watching his show one day and he was talking about the importance of sharpening hooks and keeping knots fresh.
I wasn't bringing home many fish at the time, though I understood cover, structure and presentation from the fishing mags I was reading.

Once I started sharpening hooks and retying every couple of fish my numbers changed markedly. Probably caught 3-4 times as many keepers because of that one little bit of advice.
