Thanks RB. Been checking them, but just thought some knuckledragger like Gay White Hunter may have a bit of wisdom to add here, that I might not find there! Image

fish told me he was there over the fourth and it was so so. As usual the p bait is good below fall creek. I would also try down by branson as they have been stocking there quite a bit for the tourist. Stop in at Lilley's and ask them they will always tell you what's up.

RB is right about the stocking. Had the stocking barge go by us and turn around at the island just above Branson and head back down stream. Power bait and "floated" nitecrawlers were the ticket. The trophy area pretty much sucked by its normal standard Image

Thanks for the feedback. I'm staying at Phil's, so I'll be sure to get his help in the morning. Plan on nailing at least a COUPLE of big browns up near the dam. Pics to follow next Wednesday.

No pics, but we tore them up. Caught as many as you wanted for 3 straight days. No lunkers, but the stockers we caught were a LOT bigger than usual. A pleasant surprise.

Has anyone else fished Meremac? Never been, but it sure is a heck of a lot closer. Maybe worthy of a day trip??

I've fished it. I have fished the park and the river (from the spring to Scott's Ford). It is a nice stretch of river. We caught fish by the bundles in both. For me, that is saying a lot.

I've also fished both the park and the trophy trout area below the spring as PS described. We stayed at Indian Springs campground on the river west of Steelville which was pretty nice at least back then. Fishing was decent if you can avoid the "aluminum hatch"; best to go during the week. Typical size stockers in the Park and fewer but bigger trout below the park.

Sorry I missed your request Budman. I was in Florida doing a little fishing there. Glad to hear you had a good trip.
