OutdoorMissouri.com Swap Meet?

Post by ackermannsacre » April 25th, 2005, 6:25 pm

Hey guys I gots too much stuff laying around and want some more, so I need to make some room. Figger lots of other fellows in the same boat, so I thought I would knock about the idea of me hosting an OutdoorMissouri.com OutdoorGear
SwapMeet this fall in Marshfield.

We usually close the greenhouse business down by Halloween. That gives me plenty of parking and we can use the main sales greenhouse to setup in. We can do pretty much anything we want and drink whatever we want, 'cept shootin' guns, too many close buildings and greenhouses don't hold up well against 9mm slugs and #6 shot!

I was thinking maybe Nov 5th, the Saturday before deer season or Dec 3rd the Saturday after the Thanksgiving weekend. Whachallthink?

Drink some brew, eat some dead meat and get rid of some of your old fishin', huntin' and campin' crap all at the same time!

If I can get there without overloading my 3/4 ton, I'll bring all mine. Image

Sounds like an excellent idea.

However why not move up that date?

We have plently of time to coordinate all the details.

But this is your deal ackermannsarce and just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth.

Have a LOT of things to liquidate.

Duck Decoys.
Fishing rod/reels.
Hunting accessories.
And FREE shotgun hulls.
More items to be thrown on the pile daily.

If the greenouse is still open for business through Halloweeen, it would probably be pretty difficult to move the date any earlier and not conflict with making a living.
If it was possible to do so, Bill would probably move it earlier. If the lease is not ready to go a week before gun season opens, it won't be ready opening day, either. Image

Yeah I just don't want to have a meet during Dove, Teal, early goose, then duck season and maybe ONE day of whacking a road goat.

You left out quail.
Of course opening weekend of quail season is now the youth deer hunt. I would like to meet the dumas that came up with that one.
I would probably be better off at the swap meet than sharing the great outdoors with a bunch of heavily armed nine year olds.

Sounds interesting AA...

FYI, if you want broader participation from the deer crowd, you will probably have very few takers for the date before gun deer season (the Nov. 5 date). That is bow season and most bowhunters want to be in the woods just prior to gun season to take advantage of the rut. Either that or the last-minute gun hunters would be scouting that weekend.
