#*%^ing Rain!!!

Post by Limbshot » June 18th, 2009, 2:10 pm

OK for a guy that almost exclusively fishes rivers, this rain is killing me! Everytime we even hint at heading to the river, we get another massive dose of rain. Was supposed to hit the Gasconade this past weekend for the wife's b-day and the river came up 5 feet in less than 24 hours. Now it is even higher than it was then. We had to borrow Pop's Basscat and head to Pomme and catch a bunch of bass there instead!

We are almost through June and I have yet to wet a line in any river or stream. How am I supposed to start my annual quest for a 20 inch bronzeback when I can't even get the canoe on a stream dang it?

Maybe night fishing in August will be better.

Also, bitchin' about it is bound to help eventually, so don't let anyone tell you different.

:rotfl: Apparently you are right, because we are supposed to float the Big Piney this weekend, and it is looking like it will be in good shape.

RB, we are staying at Slabtown this weekend. Let me see how things go this weekend, and I will give you some info early next week. I am pumped to finally get on a river!!! Way I see it, these bass should have seen very few lures this year, fishing should be at least decent! I haven't been on the Piney in probably 10 years, so it may not end well.

LS, I have never been on the Piney. At Truman this week and doing ok. Water up ten feet but catching some slab azz crappie to 13.5". Got in to the whites on Tuesday and limited out. Hotter than chit and I was on the boat all day, mostly playing in the water after I cleaned the fish. Headed out early tomorrow and them home by about noon. Will appreciate your report and hope you have a good trip, catch a bunch and stay cool. Camping will suck this weekend.

Man, sounds like you are in 'em RB. That's awesome! Keep it up, sounds like a blast. I haven't fished for whites in a long time, few freshwater fish as fun to catch as them!!!

Forecast looks good for us tomorrow. It will be smokin' hot, but we will be in canoes on a river I am sure we will be doing a lot of swimming!!!

Rivers are my thing. Should have a good report for you Monday. We will be in the trophy management area on the Piney, so I am hoping it is heavily populated with bronzebacks!!! Haven't caught a single one this year and it is almost July!!!
