hunters we have around here ? I've searched a few private land caves in Pulaski county - all I find is bat bones.

Most I have found were by accident along the mackinaw in Ill. Pretty neat to pick one up after it has been laying for 100's or 1000's of years.

A friend of mine in Southern Illinois has thousands of them in all shapes and sizes. He walks the edges of plowed field and finds a lot of them. I guess that area had lots of Indians. His collection is really neat.

I do a little recreational "hunting" on private lands-I have found some scrapers and broken bird points. A buddy just found a nice spearhead over the weekend.

I have probably 25 or 30 that I have found over the years. Found most of them along the St. Francis River growing up down south. I have a tomahawk or axe that is in perfect condition. Found it while pulling wild cotton in New Madrid County. Not terribly far from 8 ditch.

I live in Pulaski County and back in the 70's hunted artifacts a bunch. Dug in private caves and hunted in plowed fields. Nowadays the plowed fields are mostly taken over by fescue. Still look on the gravel bars of the Osage River when the water levels are down. Hard to see though, they're the same color as the gravel Image

I'll pick em up when I find them.Ihave a friend that hunts them religiously, got hundreds of em. He has a antler that was in velvet about 4" long (has the burr on the bottom) with a point stuck in it. Found it in a cave in Pulaski Co. Pretty cool!!! True story!!! Image
