another mess

31 crappie last night between me and the wife. most cought on minnows in brush piles 7ft of water fish about 4ft deep. did well on jigs too, but the strikes were better on the minnows. looks like the crappies are comming into the fall pattern, but the way the summer has been, maybe they've been in a fall pattern all summer.
The Doctor said I should drink more whiskey. Also, I'm calling myself 'The Doctor' now.

114 crappies filleted in the last 3 nights, fishin no more than 2 hrs or so in the evenings. lotsa fish pretty shallow, 3-4' or so. i told the wife i needed a night off from cleaning 30-40 fish every evening. have to have a chance to eat'em every now and then.

Dave, I caught 23 last night 10-15 1/2 inchers in less than 3 hours, lots of throwbacks. That was enough for me. I am eating a few tonight. BC

since Sept. the last 4 trips me and the wife have made we've kept 154 crappies. fishing at Jackson co lakes. no length limit, but we get a few 12" or better fish every trip. yesterday it was 40 fish right in the middle of the day 10:30-2pm
