Critter ???

Post by Outdoorsfool » October 4th, 2004, 1:42 pm

Anyone know of minks being in Central MO? I checked the MDC website and distribution shows Missouri, but also says they are scarce.
I saw a road kill critter this weekend that looked unusual, so I went back and checked it out. It was a little messed up but didn't look like an otter. Best I can tell it was a young mink.

OF,I can't think of a part of Mo.that I haven't seen 'em.

You must have some seriously blurred vision when you go on a float. Image Image I see tons of 'em when I'm on a float.

Iffin you get close to a critter, and it resembles a mink, and smells much worse that the North end of a Southbound skunk,it's a mink. Image

DMR - Don't think I've seen any minks while floating, but have seen some otters, a few jugs and even a couple of beavers Image Image.

Minks are over rated anyway. You're better off with the beavers. Image

Big minks are fine. I can't say the same about beavers. Image

When you say " hello " to a beaver, then hear a " hello " in echo. That would be a beaver to just turn and walk away from, cause you ain't winning that battle.

Anything that's big enough for me to holler into ain't for me...and I don't even have to wait to see if there's an echo to know that!! Image

I'd believe that were true ifn' it weren't for the fact that all gals down that direction weren't easy as pie. I mean, they generally start aroun age 10 down in SWMO.
