1st trip on TC

Post by swmoDukR » April 22nd, 2005, 5:22 pm

Took a friend, his son, and my two boys out last friday and did fairly decent. The 3 fish pictured were 25 to 31 lbs each fat and full of eggs. We shot close to 30 fish that night and missed that many more and then some. Not too bad considering we are using one handheld spot light, really need to get light rigged up on my boat Image

Ever cook one John? My old great Aunt used to bake them, if they were 15# or bigger, so the bones were big. I've eaten them and they aren't too bad.

Not out of the part of TC we caught those I wouldn't Image. Grandad used to smoke as well as can em when we caught them out of the cleaner colder upper end and they weren't too bad.

We pressure cooked some similar fish at one time. We hit the chunks with about 30 minutes of smoke and then canned them in a pressure cooker. They were good.
