5_7 trip to camp

Post by micus » May 8th, 2005, 11:58 pm

Went to my Jacks Fork Camp. All I found was Tree Ears. If you like oriental food you probably have eaten them without knowing it. Sliced in long strips, it took me years to realize what it was. $5.99 dried oz. at Schnucks. Image

It was tough like last year. Same problems with the weather in my area. South of I-70 a lot of places didn't put up anything. Total of only 32, at least some of them were good size= 7"-8". I think I had more competition than usual in my "spots". I quess they need to make someone else moderator, I seem to have lost the touch. ;-)

Don't feel bad, I put in a couple miles in proven areas, but when it's as dry as it was, we were SOL. The ones we found were bigg'ens though.

Dave, the only fungus you've seen all year was LadyAngler's yeast infection.

I found the most of the folks I was with. I have a natural eye for finding stuff outdoors, I'm a finder.

LA has been yeast free for quite some time, unlike the slug trail of chese your old lady is dropping everywhere she goes.

I don't know if you're a finder or not, but with that neon orange shirt, blue hat, and 3 ft. afro of yours, you sure are easy to find.

Micus,

You will always be the man for the mushroom forum. We have not forgotten what you pulled off with our weird summer weather last year. Image Image

I haven't had a hair cut in months, I'm sure you could look out the window toward KC and see my hair on the horizon.

Rafe.... are you a metro or homosexual?!? Image

You are awfully concerned with Dave's clothing and appearance. Hey... maybe you should start a spin off show... Queer Eye of an Outdoors Guy. You would be a great host. I'm sure it would be a GIANT hit!!! Image

I'm a hick in professional clothing that likes to pick on Dave. That's all.

I don't know that I'd be a great TV host. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything, but I have what those in the entertainment industry like to call "The Perfect Face for Radio."

Image @ Rafe.

True, picking on Dave can be delightful... but may I warn you, once his eyes turn red and the afro is on end... Look out! Image

He has a secret weapon... far more deadly than any bomb ever engineered by science. Image

It's a wonder that I'm still alive! Image

That is about as well said as any man could put it. I totally relate. Image
