Aim Low's Gator Gar pix

Post by Robin@AimLow » August 6th, 2005, 7:58 pm

Here are a couple of pix. We just got home this morning and are still in shock over this fish! As PS found out, we also set a new TX state record for a different species. More pix will follow on our site for those interested.

How wide is that thing across the head? Huge Huge Huge fish. Now I believe you guys when you considered towing it in instead of bringing it aboard the boat. Image

I hope this brings more attention to AimLow's videos. Image

Not sure, didn't measure it. But, the pic is no exaggeration at all. Larry and Keith are holding the head right in front of their bodies.

The girth of the fish measured 44.75" in the middle section.

Showed my daughter and the misses these pictures. They were aghast. I don't think they will swim in the rivers, creeks, or lakes anywhere, anytime, soon. That fish is absolutely freaking amazing. Robin, I would have like to have seen you stick your head in its mouth much like a alligator tamer does. Can we look to see something like that in the next adventure ?

I did my best to stick my leg in ones mouth. You will see all the bloody results of that little mishap.

Oh ya, almost forgot about testing the tensile strenth of my chin against the arrow pt using a thrashing gar as an accelerator. Ya, you will see those results also.

That was your shin Robin, not your chin.

Chit I forgot about that. Too bad the camera was not on us at the time, but I was bending over trying to pull an arrow out of a giant buffalo when Robin decided to start the genny. He elbowed me square in the nose and dang near knocked me unconcious. It hurt at the time, but would have been hilarious footage.

That`s almost as funny as the time Robin was weighing a 50 pounder, and the hook on the scales straightened, and he busted himself in the chin. Image

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Congrats on the big fish boys. That's the kind of stuff you need to help with bigger breaks. That big monster on the front cover will sell lots of tape.
