I planted some arrowwood which is a bush that I was told the American Indians searched out for making arrows. I got them from the Conservation seedling program. They grow straight with few burrs to muck up flight. Anyone try to build arrows from these bush's ?

2B - Was it hard to get those bushes? I hear that true bush is pretty rare anymore.

Sharps - What kind of bow do you shoot...homemade or manufactured? My dad had a buddy that used to make yearly trips to MOMO from South Dakota to cut hedge. He made some killer bows. I think he said they sold from about $500 to over $1000. Image

No...not really. I just ordered them through the Missouri DOC seedling program.

ODF, I shoot a Great Plains longbow, 62", 50 lb @ 28". I also shoot an old, by most guys standards, Hoyt, Pro Hunter. 56", 47 lb. @ 28". I've never owned or shot what is erronously called a bow with training wheels on it.

Yes, I've hunted the last two seasons, and again this year with Maxima Hunters. I've experimented with every arrow you can think of, and shot game with most. Maxima Hunters are my favorites by far, and the toughest arrows I've shot by far, also. They plain work, and I have never broken one other than by shooting one into the other.
