Good stuff.

The old lady made me a batch of chicken and dumplings along with a home made apple pie Sunday. It's a good thing too, as I was hungry.

"The old lady?" Jeez, Dave, it's a good thing she doesn't read this site or she may be offended.

You think that's bad? You should see what I'm going to have to ask her for, within in the next 28 days, for the best rut scent/buck attractant. I just read it at AT, so I know it'll work. Image

I made some awesome beef stew yesterday. We'll be eating on that for 2 more days. Hope to have some more venison soon so we can quit buying beef for a while.

Let me know if you need any extra. I pass on a ton of does around here, and still end up donating one, and giving one away to a friend of LA's. I should probably only kill what we plan to eat, but I have to satiate my killing desire's.

I'll kill one on my own, thank you. I haven't hunted yet, so give me a chance. The white oak acorns are dropping and the persimmons are ripe & sweet on top of the hill at the Tick Farm. I reckon I'll set up around there somewhere next week.

They are moving at night lately with the full moon. I expect that morning hunts will be good next weekend, especially if we get some cooler weather.

Last night I saw my quarry. I know where he beds. If I don't kill him, I will waste the rest of the season trying. My plan is to not hunt him very much, if at all, until 10-29, and then I'm going full bore, right at him with everything I've got.

Just kill a few then. I take it out on does during gun season. It gives me great personal satisfaction that I can reach out and extend my killing range by a factor of 100. Image

Factor of 100? So you go from shooting 30 yards when archery hunting to 3000 yards during firearms season? Impressive.

Might wanna watch who you are calling "old!" Image FYI: The dumplings were more labor intensive than your pie. Image

dave keep up calling LA old and you just might need a doe Image What you should say is "Sweet young thing" and you might get more than a dumb ol pie.
