Chronographs

Post by DES » October 25th, 2005, 12:45 pm

Anyone have one of the Oehler "proof" chronographs with the three screens you use to check load velocity? I've got an older Oehler 12 but would like to upgrade. I tried the "Chrony" but wasn't happy with it.

I've been thinking of gettin a chrony. After checking out the options I decided to go this route: CED Millennium Chronograph

Swamp Fox,
Thanks for the suggestion for the CED, I'll have to check it out. It looks decent and I like the infrared option.

Grafs carries them. If you call the Mexico store they can have one waiting for you when you get there. Their warehouse is about 2 miles from the store.
I'll probably get mine in about 2 weeks.

Got the CED but haven't had a chance to go to the range.
If you have a newer computer you may have to get a "serial port to usb adapter" to do your downloads.
I found one at Walmart for $25.

Well, it wasn't next week but the CED works good if its sunny and the sun isn't too low in the sky. I understand lighting can be a problem with all chronos.
Downloading the data to the computer is a snap.

Glad to hear it's working good for you, I was hoping you'd try it out before long. What screen spacing are you using?

I'm using the 2' bar that came with the chrono. 15' from the muzzel to the center of the bar.
