7mm Mag Max Data?

Post by Two Tall the Neanderthal » October 28th, 2005, 12:57 pm

Boys, I'm throwing together some new loads for the 7mm mag, since I'm gonna kill a deer with it this year. It's been a few years since I used it. I believe it's that rifles turn this year in the cycle of guns.

Last year it was the Savage 10FM 300WSM with Barnes TSX.

I'm going with 139 Innerlock Super Shock Tips this goround.
I normally go by much older manuals, before they lawyer proofed the new crap. But there is a substantial difference between the new and old books. Then new book says IMR 4350 60 grains is max with 2950 fps. The old book lists 68.2 for 3400... now those of you that stuff shells know that's a huge gap in info. I've got some other manuals listing up to 64 grains, but nothing close to 68.

I don't need near that performance and I'll probably go with 62.5 grains, but can anyone else find loads that strong in there books for 7mag and IMR 4350?

Really Dave, I know the load I want, just curious if anybody else has a book that publishes 68 grains of 4350 for it.

Just fall back on the old standby of 10% less and work up.

Oh, don't blow yourself up either.

TTN are we talking about a rem mag or weatherby mag?
The list I have for the 7mm Rem. Mag of 4350 60.4 MAX and the Weatherby mag is 70.1 max 4350. Hornady third edition.

Rem Mag. I have book data that says 68.2 grain max on 4350. I can't find other book data to match it.

I don't have a freaking clue. I shoot 150g nosler partitions out of my A-bolt .270. Federal premium I believe.

I cannot find any info @dupont for that weight bullet, but the weights they show 130 Gr. Nos Partitian and the 140 Gr. Nos Part. do not exceed the powder amounts I have already posted. Sorry not more help.
