TT6 , go ahead and jump in . On the fishing or on the trash talking . Whatever you want ,it is a free country . And I will listen to any new idea on either. I am just an ole dumb hillbilly anyway. And if you want to call me names feel free my old lady does all the time, and were still friends.

MM, you should like the 480. I have one with GPS on my Skeeter, and I really am tickled with it. It give a great picture, and I really like being able to split the screen and nav back home in the dark.
BTW, how fast will your Ranger run top end?

I did not get the gps unit. I got this unit for the front of the boat. I have a lowrance x-15 w/gps on the transom. I love it .on my last boat i just sold ,it had a lowrance x-135 which I loved but from what everyone has told me the 480 eagle is just as good a unit and half the price. I recieved it friday night and saturday I got a sale ad from bass pro and they are running them the day after thanksgiving for 179.99 I believe, that pisses me off but I would have had to drive up there and that would of cost me lots more than I would have saved. Bullitt my boat is not a bass boat its a fisherman series walleye boat. It is very heavy ,the best I have gotten out of it is by myself low gas 56 mph on the gps . fully loaded with gear ,gas 2 large people such as my self 51 on gps and thats with a good chop on the water.

TT6....If money is not a problem, I'd recommend a Lowrance
LCX 110c w/GPS.... Mine has worked flawlessly and once you get one of those BIG screens, you'll never go back. But they are expensive. The Lowrance LCX 25c isn't quite as big but it's a super piece of equipment also....and not quite as expensive. It all kind of depends on how much you're going to spend. Eagle has some great units also.

I'd most likely like the 10 inch better. at 57 my eyes just don't work as well as they used too. I've got one of those cheap things that came with my boat and I need to replace it. Yes money is always a problem, but as long as it is not more that $600.00 or $700.00 I can swing it. Is Bottom Line any good they look like they have a really big screen?

If thats your budget, I would go with a lowrance x-15 or x-17 . I really enjoy my x-15 . Plus if you need upgrades lowrance will send the software to you. All you have to do is pop it in the card slot , let it load then send it back at no cost. I just got my boat the x-15 was a 2001 model it would not read my navionics card so I called lowrance and they hooked me right up.

Jr., my Skeeter is a bass boat. A regulation "glitter sled" as PD calls it. It's not set up for 'eyes at all, that's why I walleye fish out of the pontoon boat.

MM, I was pretty sure that your boat was a walleye model, but I didn't have a clue how fast one would run. Just curious.

You had better change your "swing price" if you want one of those Big Screen's on your boat. Multiply that times 3 and you are getting there.

Speaking of electronics, we are thinkin about getting a new depth finder. Me and dad sat a BPS and stared at the Lowrance 110, but we havent made a final decision. Wont be able to fish for a while unless i go by myself at Bull Shoals. Dad is headed to South Dakota Phesant hunting Tuesday, then he is coming back for a few days, and then goint to Vegas.
