As odd as it sounds I've always wanted to catch a mess of yellow perch. They're just not a common fish in any lakes I fish regularly.

Dave-T, perch fishing is BIG in the northern states. I lived in Montana for several years and the locals always talked about going perch fishing during the winter (on the ice). You don't hear a lot about yellow perch being caught in Missouri though.

The yellow perch got mixed in with some walleyes from up North. The MDC i guess traded Turkeys, for Walleyes, and the yellow perch were mixed in. I have only heard of them being caught out of Bull Shoals.
