I HAVE MY COMPOUND SET AT 50 LBS. BEST SETUP TO START WOULD BE GO TO EBAY OR PAWN SHOP AND FIND A USED BOW (check it for any problems, cracked limbs, worn cables etc.)GET A AMS RETRIEVER REEL, SOME ARROWS AND YOUR READY.

Depends on what we are shooting. 45-50 is good most of the time. I don't recommend a pawn shop bow ever for bowfishing. You will shoot this bow more than any other bow and will mistreat the heck out of it. IMO, you need something you can depend on. But, I guess if you don't plan on getting serious with it you can get by with a cheapie.

The bow I wanted to set up for bow fishing is a High Country Sniper. I no longer use it for Deer Hunting and thought I would try to get some ideas on how to set up that bow for bow fishing....I have never Bow Fished before but it sure sounds like alot of fun.. Image

OW,

I would think the HighCountry to be plenty of bow. I always liked the highcountry's. They are not as well known but in some circles, the highcountry's are said the best shootin bows around. Image

High Country still makes bows?

But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Nope, but in the late `90s the local archery shop sold a chitload of them. Their 4 Runner was one of the first high performance bows on the market. For whatever reason it seemed that the industry just passed them by, and they did nothing to try and keep up. If I remember correctly, the weighted cam was a High Country design that Matthews paid them dearly to use.

T,

Exactly. They were ahead of their time and hardly anyone noticed. They missed a grand opportunity imho.
