Back in print!
The long out of print but popular Roger Phillips book "Mushrooms of North America" has been reborn as "Mushrooms and Other Fungi of North America". Has the best photo illustration of mushrooms I have seen. Used along with Gary Lincoff's "National Audubon Society Field Guide to Mushrooms", you cover a lot of the mushrooms you will encounter.

Re: Back in print!
Thanks, Micus !
I've been meaning to expand my fungibilities.
As of now, I only search for morels, chantrelles, and hen of the woods.
I realize that I'm passing up a lot of desirable fungi. Even some that I wouldn't have to buy a few drinks first.

I'll start looking in about a week. Probably too early but I'll check anyway.

Re: Back in print!
The morel progress maps have shown a few finds in SW MO, several in the Bootheel, and even one find in central MO. I'd say after the big storms and warm weather this weekend it may not be a bad idea Swamp Fox. It will sort of depend on the overnight temps.

Re: Back in print!
I'm going to head for Texas Cty. next week and do a little hunting while checking out a road we just had made. Mid-Mo, I'm still thinking two weeks. Keep in mind, morels do NOT pop up overnight, let the little ones grow a while. I'm going to buy Michael's book but may wait and buy it from him direct at "Morel Maddness" end of April.

Thanks Micus, they are indeed up already but small, I left all but two I found today behind. I will post some pics.
I have been meaning to join the MMS. Maybe I will see you there.
