They are here but still small

Found a few yellows today. Most were small, only picked two. Here is the first one I found. Image

I have never taken my camera shroom hunting. Great pics. Thanks! Image

I took our camera shroomin' last Spring. Mrs. Hollister erased those pictures, though. Probably to make room on the disk for casket sprays or some such krep.

LA - You need to change that habit. I've got some cool pics of my boy finding his first mushroom. You'd have thought he found a pot of gold, from the look on his face. Image

Rafe - You finding anything down that way yet? Only thing I've heard of in the Central Mo area is some nice reds being found. It won't be long now!! Image

Looked last Sunday & didn't see a damm thing. I'll try it again this weekend if the kid decides to go turkey hunting.

I'm going to wander the woods this weekend...rain is supposed to be here this week and temps are predicted to be from 60-mid 70's up through at least Tuesday or Wednesday. If they are finding reds now, it's just a little early....but I'd rather be early than late!

This weekend may be a little early for the big hauls. Look for Easter weekend to be where it's at.

Easter may be bit early in Central MO for the big hauls....but it all depends on temps and rainfall. From the forecast, anytime next week through the end of April is looking real promising this year!!

I should clarify my above post.

If we get the rain tomorrow, with a little more next week, then Easter weekend will be prime.

Yep...I hope the temps hold. Seems like every year that things are looking just perfect, something happens....dry spell, cold snap, etc.. :keepingfingerscrossed:

It's been very dry the last two yrs in my shroomin' spots. This rain is nice, and I'm hopng for another big haul. It's been a couple years since our last big find.

Thanks everyone, I was suprised to see them myself. Was mainly going out to check ground temperatures and their they were.
These were found in one of my early spots. The ground temp was 54 at the time of the photos.
I am in Columbia, Missouri. I hunted south of Joplin over the weekend but found nothing, I couldn't believe that they were already popping here. I guess it's true, there's no place like home.
