That's why there weren't any mushrooms there. All you'll find South of Joplin is rocks & chickenshit.

Just givin' you a hard time, Rafe. I know y'all have some decent dirt in the creek and river bottoms.

3 years ago this weekend, I picked a nice mess of morels on the banks of the James river. Image

I realize that's not S. of Joplin, but I put everything S. of hwy. 44 in the same category. Image

I had seen on the morel progress maps that there had already been a find in the Columbia area, but I thought it was an isolated incident. Maybe not so.

It's been very dry the last two yrs in my shroomin' spots. This rain is nice, and I'm hopng for another big haul. It's been a couple years since our last big find.

Whose shroomin' spots, again?!? Image

Ahistory, so where xzactly did you say you found those again??

Bein from the afore-mentioned area, I can confirm there is no soil South of Joplin... just rocks... and chicken poopoo... and beaners.

That's a little redundant, Hobie. Where you find chickenshit, you find beaners.

... there are some mighty fine creeks down that way, though. With some mighty fine smallie and goggle-eye fishin. Well, the ones that ain't got chicken poopoo or beaners in'em anyways.
