Ground temperature: 57?



Edibles found: Tremella mesenterica (Whitches' Butter), Coprinus micaceus (Mica Cap) and Auricularia auricula (Tree-Ear)



Wild flowers: Sweet Williams, Spring Beauties, Trout Lillies, Dutchman's Britches, Dandelion



Conclusion: They should start any day now in that location (St. Charles County). Be good to harvest Easter. (Easter eggs & morels?) Image

We're off to the flease at Overton(after the youts are done educating turkeys) primarily for fish but will definitely have a wal-mart bag in my back pocket in case the crappie are slow. Good to hear a few are being found. Image

Found 5 up at the Tick Farm this weekend. They'd been up for a while and were already pretty dry so I left 'em alone.

2nd row left an top row right are 11.75 inches Image(trust me Image ) All were females but two. the smallest were 9.5 inches Threw that many more that size back Image

Found 25 lbs of red mushrooms Saturday morning while my son and I were turkey hunting.

I call bullchit on Snowflake...he couldn't lift 25 lbs of shrooms much less find them. What about the turks?

I wouldn't be surprised to hear they were all henned up. LA called and said the tom was mating hens just a couple minutes ago.
