Got me a new duck chaser!!

Post by hobiecat » July 10th, 2006, 3:17 am

No I ain't talkin bout a dog... or a kid.

This weekend I bought myself a nice lil used boat that I'm gonna make into a duckin/fishin rig. It's a 17' Lowe modified-v hull with a 60hp Evinrude, side console, trollin motor, nice lil Eagle fish finder, live wells, cover and trailer. Picked it all up for 2K. Pretty proud o'myself.

Yep, just a baby boat.

I'll tell ya what... the fella wasn't happy with my offer. Took him over a week to finally accept it. Lucky for me this fella lived out in the middle of no-where, about 10 miles past bum-fukk, and he finally got tired of fieldin calls and havin the people not show up to look at it.

Yep, she's just what I wanted... only a lil cheaper. Image

Good deal Hobs. Ever since the old lady and I bought our first boat, I've seen the light, and doubt we will ever be without one now.

Sounds like a nice rig and a greal price. Image

Hey Hobie-

I bought a Lowe Model 1860 mod-V a little over a year back that the guy had set up primarily for duck hunting. He had a pretty slick blind setup- the small tubular steel frame for each side bolts on the gunwales and features a hinged flip up door. The frame is covered by a heavy duty cloth camo blind with narrow windows that can be closed as needed. It is easily removed by four bolts on each side to return it to a fishing rig.

I can send some pics if you would like so you can get some ideas- it would probably be after this weekend though since my blind is at my property near Truman Lake.
