I am always looking for a good brand of line to fish with. I reecently was told about a new brand of line called Gamma. It is a monofilament line but it has very little memory to it(kind of like Snowblower)and it casts very well. Anyway, it would recommend it for any type of fishing. It doesnt abraid and is very sensitive

Interesting, is it expensive? I know that is pretty subjective.

That's not bad at all, I will have to pick some up and give it a whirl.

Thanks for the heads up.

Fishin, it is fairly new so I dont know if everyone will have it in stock. It should be at some of the B and T shops.

I really like Maxima. That stuff flat disappears in the H2O and it is strong as all get out. Not too bad on memory, and good casting as well. That is all I have used for years now, just relatively expensive.

Not a big Maxima fan I have used it a few times. I am currently using Pline and some sort of braid on my baitcaster and some various other crap on my other rods. My 6 yo is a big fan of Cajun Red for crappie or 2lb BPS chit for trout.

I exclusively use Maxima Chameleon (the brown line) and love it. It has good sensitivity and is resistant to abrasion. I have now caught several 8+ pound hybrids on 6 pound Chameleon line, fighting some of them for an hour.

What kind of Maxima did you use Fishin? I don't like the Maxima Ultragreen; it isn't nearly as resistant to abrasion and doesn't seem to have as sensitive feel. If that is the line you used, then I agree with you. It is harder to find the Chameleon; most places only have the Ultragreen and even Bass Pro only stocks the large bulk spools of Chameleon. I haven't used their Tournament Silver line before, so I can't comment on that.

It is probably the ultra green, I would have to go and look at the spool. Recently when looking through my stuff I have noticed some of my poles bait casters have spiderline from 3 or 4 years ago on them and it still works great or I haven't changed it. Most of my crappie stuff has cheap chit 6 lb on it made by God knows for BPS that really works pretty well and also some Wally Marshall bright yellow stuff.

To get to the end of my rant with 4 people fishing on a regular basis I go through a bunch of line in a year and unless I need high dollar line I am going to stick with middle of the road to semi cheap stuff unless it is tournament stuff.
