Yellow spots...

Post by LadyAngler » July 24th, 2007, 12:04 pm

My apple trees have yellow spots on most of the leaves. The underside of the leaf has what looks kinda like lichen or something. Any quesses? Does Cedar Apple Rust have this poopoo under the leaves?

Side note.... trees did not produce this year because of the freeze. This just appeared within the last couple weeks.

I have connections with a couple of horticulturalists, so I am in the know about this chit. She just didn't believe me.

Sounds like cedar apple rust to me.

For future reference:

1. Remove galls from the cedars around your property to prevent the leaf rust on the apple trees.

2. Spray fungicide on roses, apple and crabapple trees to prevent this from being too severe an infection.

3. Just e-mail all these questions to me since I'm a helluva lot more knowledgable about this stuff than any of the other goobers on this board.

Yep, for once Rafe is right. I am glad he answered because I was not sure I would be on here today and LA sounded like she needed to know.

LA The lack of production do to frost can be reversed all you have to do is strip, wrap your legs around the largest branch of the tree and ride it like a buck bull for about 10 mins. The leaves will change back and you Ole man will have a heart attack. Image

Yeah, it's his best comeback and it's still hovering somewhere in the 5th grade level.

Rafe I believe you would know since that is two (2) grades higher than anything you have done. Image
