Mid-Missouri morels already
I went out and checked a few spots today and one of the spots surprised me. There is barely any ground cover and no trees are leafing out, though many are budding. Yet there they were hugging a sapling for warmth.
Another week and there should be good hunting in Mid-Missouri.
Here are a few photos:
Happy hunting,

I found bunches of fresh greys in my early picking spots in West-Central MO; however the cold snap over the weekend shut them off. I'm betting they're back on this week with the warmer weather but am stuck at work.
A former co-worker on the Kansas side of the KC metro area has been having similar luck. Sounds like they're popping up better in southern and eastern parts of the state but I think everywhere is having a better than average year.
