Truman-One hot MoFo this weekend

Post by fish » August 4th, 2008, 9:50 am

Unfortunately only the sun was hot and not the crappie catching. Brought home 44 filets (sounds better that way) in three days fishing. Caught fish in 30' of water at 20' deep off the outer timber and in 15' of water 8-10' deep on timbered flats. The pattern was... there was no pattern. :bangin: Hybrid and white fishing is finally taking off down there tho. Saw piles of them on the cleaning tables at Sterrett Ck.

The best thing about the trip was gas was $3.47 down there. Topped off everything before going home to the $3.75 stuff here.

fish - :antlers :smokin:

The crappie can be tough on hot days down there- we have always done well on summer crappie by fishing in the shade next to the bridge piers. At least the lake is getting back to the normal pool elevation- it was way up most of the spring and early summer.
