Saturday on the Gasconade

Well we were down at the farm Saturday, had planned on hitting the river in the morning, but the weather would not allow that. Things finally cleared up in the afternoon so we (myself, the misses and my Dad) took a canoe down to our access and started a small float. Decided to head up to the top of our pool and get out and wade fish that area and walk up to the next pool up. That turned out to be a good decision, as we never left that pool, or even got back in the canoe. In a 3 hour time span, the 3 of us caught roughly 30 smallies. I caught two 18 inchers and Dad caught three 18 inchers. The misses never hooked up with any good ones, but defintiely caught her share. Dad and I also each lost one more in that size range. I was catching all of my fish fishing a finesse worm weightless just twitching it over the top of big rocks, and the other two were using soft plastics Texas rigged, although she did catch 3 or 4 on a small crankbait. Not a bad 3 hours of fishing for sure, we had a blast. Definitely looking forward to heading back out soon!!!

Definitely one of the better ones recently. Good news is...there is an above average chance I'll be doing that again this weekend!!!
