Proof Pitino is a Nutjob

As you may have heard, Rick Pitino is fighting issues in the media regarding his infidelity with an unstable mistress who herself is being charged for extortion.

Anyhow, I think "birds of a feather flock together". Here is a quote from his interview that I think substantiates that he isn't all there:

"Enough's enough, everybody is tired of it," Pitino said. "We need to get on with the important things in life like the economy and really some crucial things in life like basketball."

Is he kidding? Basketball, and especially Louisville basketball is crucial? Pro football or baseball maybe, or even college football but certainly not Louisville basketball!

Yeah, Louisville isn't nearly as good as any team in Missouri! BWAAAHAAAAAHAAAA, good one! They were pretty awful last year, they only won the regular season title and tournament title in the toughest conference in the nation last year. Ended up with the overall #1 going into the NCAA tourney. Don't knock the cards!!!

I will admit, however there are far more important things out there than any sport, be it professional or college!

Oh, I know that Louisville basketball is good- I had them in the Final Four of my winning OM Tournament bracket.

My point is that it is a little early to talk about basketball as "crucial" when the college football hasn't even started, most of the U.S. wouldn't consider college basketball as the country's premier sport, and Louisville is generally considered the "second best" basketball program in the State of Kentucky (at least historically).

I did forget that his statement was probably for domestic (local) consumption to the masses and that basketball is elevated to religion there, along with marrying your kin and abstaining from evils like alcohol and rock music. Good point!

Ah, I see what you are saying. Sorry for the misenterpretation! Yeah, I think he was just trying to rally the troups with that statement! The U of K, U of L match up should be very interesting now with Pitino at Louisville and Calipari at Kentucky. You had better believe that there will be some knock down drag outs between them now. I just that Pitino hasn't literally screwed his way out of good recruiting!!!
