critters

Do you have one. If so, tell us about it. Who is allowed in it and what goes on in there.

critters

Post by hunting170 » November 2nd, 2010, 8:51 am

Looked out my window yesterday, at about 5:45 pm, just in time to see a bobcat walk through my backyard. I was so taken aback that it never even occured to me to grab my camera. He wasn`t there long anyway. It was cool I tell ya.
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who did not whine, nag, or bitch.
But it was a long time ago, and it was just that one day.

Aren't those things protected in IL?

yes they are Dave...unless they are in my yard. I consider that a potential life threatening situation to my children, and small pets.

There area lot more of those things around that people would believe. I've seen more bobcats than I have coyotes and fox put together.

2004 or 2005 I saw 3 while bow hunting.

I saw 4 bobcats in the fall of 2007.

On that week long elk hunt last year, only 5-1/2 days hunted, I saw 2 bobcats. One of them was only 6 yards out or so.

The last bobcat I saw was while fishing a tournament down here on TR..It was huge. It was lapping up water at the edge of the lake as I was fishing toward it. It saw me coming toward it, turned and walked under a tree promptly laid down and watched as I fished by it. Oh, I did see one at the zoo a couple of weeks ago.

I almost nailed one driving on Highway 18 near the Grand River west of Clinton last weekend- was pretty cool to see him slink across the road in the glare of my rapidly approaching headlights

That is a real pretty cat. I'm not sure you know how rare it is to have one spotted that well.
