Wednesday

Post by Triton X2 » November 26th, 2010, 10:12 am

Just have to post something here to remove the rust. Went out Wednesday before Thanksgiving day and had 8 keepers with 5 of them over 3 up to 41/2 lbs. Went out about 8 and came back in at noon. That is all

No, if there had been it would have been in the white bass section... :banghead: :flippa:

There have been more of them showing up as the water cools though.

Triton, there is more than one tree at every bend. About the only problem I ever had there was on the gravel shoal on the northwest corner of KK island. Got over it but skinned the prop a little bit. Last summer while trolling cranks by the bluff at the dam I caught a 4lb walleye and 25lb blue cat. Wiggle warts can catch anything.

Truman can be the best lake and the worst lake in the state for almost any kind of fishing. That lake can absolutely drive me crazy sometimes. You just never know what you are going to get, or what you are going to catch. It is definitely a great catfishing lake. I have had great days and bad days, or vice versa, on back to back days on that lake. All in all, I like fishing it though.

Nice job on the bass Triton, sounds like a good time.

Triton, I figgered that. The hazard that almost got me the first time there was the ridge that comes way out in the lake at O3. The lake was down and I saw some tree tops sticking up in time to move out in deeper water. Otherwise it's a great lake if you are careful. Some of the biggest crappie I have ever caught came out of that lake.

Caught a hybrid once there on a topwater. Lure was just sitting there after I had gotten it around a tree and it sounded like someone threw in a refrigerator into the water. Bout scared the crap out of me as it was only about 3 or 4 feet from the boat. I had to go change my drawers.

I had a hybrid break the surface about 20 from the boat and I chucked a 1oz jigging spoon at him. As soon as it hit the water he hit and almost pulled the rod out of my hand. Weighed in at 8 lbs. I was in the middle of a shad school and in the next 20 minutes caught a white bass or hybrid on about every cast. After ten minutes I was culling like crazy.

15 crappies from Truman filleted will out weigh 15 filleted crappie from any lake in the state, in my experience. Truman produces thick, meaty fish.
