Almost

Post by Swamp_Fox » April 19th, 2011, 12:40 pm

I went out sunday looking for shrooms. Nada on the shrooms but everything looks right. My spots should pop any day now.
Did find a small shed.

I've beeen finding morels for the last week or so in west central MO. They have been smaller ones, but finding them in more places than usual around my productive spots because of the warm temps and wet weather.

You can prepare morels like you would any other mushroom- fried, sauteed, stuffed, etc. You can also dehydrate them and then rehydrate them later for use in soups, etc. However they are best fresh.I personally like to sautee them in butter and have them with steaks, burgers, etc.

You gotta slice them real thin and dip them in your normal corn silo batter.
