Omen - visit to Crackers

Happened to be on the west side of the state for business last week. Went to see Mike Carter, and had him "re-Crackerize" the Omen. Bow felt good before, feels better now. He changed some of how he built strings for the Omen, and I can tell an improvement. My Omen was the first one he'd done (or anyone had done), and he's refined it somewhat.

Shooting 500-grain finished arrows out of it now. Easton Full Metal Jackets, topped with 125-grain Magnus Stingers sitting in front of Easton broadhead adaptor rings. It shoots them well.

Don't have the Vendetta on it right now. Need to see if it's legal in Ontario, where I'm headed in a couple months to try and poke a hole in a bear. If so, it'll get mounted soon. I made some changes again to Leupold's mounting system, and came up with something that works better than what's in the box. JT sent the pictures to Leupold, and they seemed to like the idea.

It now sits in a better location for weight distribution, and directly above line-of-sight for the Spott-Hogg pin ring, which eliminates the need for it to hang outside of the bows natural geometry. So, not only is weight distribution better, but the unit is better protected in general.

View from the front of the bow. Much easier to adjust the Vendetta this way. Stock, it hangs away from the sight bracket. For "sighting in", you measure how many inches out and above from your 20-pin it is. This way, it's just a couple inches high. It's also more accurate, or potentially more accurate, at further field ranges, as you're definately on target with it to a longer distance on smaller targets.

That`s a great modification to the Vendetta. That has to hold much better than before. Do you think you could get me an appointment with Crackers? I think I want to send my Motive 7 to him.
