Crappie are done at LOZ

Post by Limbshot » May 21st, 2018, 9:21 am

Well Dad and I went one last time to try and get into the slabs this past Saturday and the fish have moved out off the banks and we could only catch them suspended under docks. It was considerably tougher than my previous trips, but I was able to land a limit and Dad brought home 11, so we were close to another double limit. I did manage to catch my personal best with a 14.5 incher (pictured below with Dad holding it and then in my right hand). This was probably my last trip for crappie until winter. Now it's time to hit the rivers! That starts this weekend!!!

That's still a good post spawn trip. Some good ones.

We were very pleased! I am actually pretty proud because I am by no means a crappie expert, but I figured them out based on where we had been catching them. We knew they wouldn't move too far. First time either of us had really even tried catching post spawn fish.
